Ingredients

6 servings
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 4 cups peeled and sliced peaches
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 3/4 tsp kosher salt
  • 3/4 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 2/3 cup whole milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Preparation

  1. 1

Add the butter to an 8 x 8-inch baking dish or cast iron skillet. Place it in the oven and preheat to 350°F (175°C). Once the butter is melted, 4-6 minutes, remove the dish and set aside.

  2. 2

In a bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon until well incorporated.

  3. 3

Pour the milk and vanilla extract into the dry mixture and whisk until the batter is smooth.

  4. 4

Pour the batter directly into the baking dish over the melted butter. Do not stir. Evenly distribute the sliced peaches on top of the batter.

  5. 5

Bake in the preheated oven for 45-55 minutes until the edges are golden and the middle is set. Let cool for 15 minutes before serving.
