Ingredients

  • 100 g butter · softened
  • 40 g powdered sugar
  • 30 g egg · at room temperature
  • 200 g cake flour
  • almonds
  • chocolate · melted

Preparation

  1. 1

In a bowl, cream the softened butter with powdered sugar using a spatula, then whip with an electric mixer until light and fluffy.

  2. 2

Gradually add the egg to the butter mixture, whisking well after each addition until fully incorporated.

  3. 3

Sift in the cake flour and fold until a smooth dough forms. Knead slightly by hand if needed.

  4. 4

Roll the dough out between parchment paper to a thickness of 3-5mm. Chill in the freezer for 10 minutes.

  5. 5

Use a star-shaped cookie cutter to cut out the shapes and arrange them on a baking sheet.

  6. 6

Place one whole almond in the center of each star and gently fold two adjacent star points over the almond to secure it.

  7. 7

Bake in a preheated oven at 150-160°C for 20 minutes, watching for the last 5 minutes to ensure they don't brown too much.

  8. 8

Once cooled completely, use a piping bag with melted chocolate to draw faces on the stars.
