Golden Clarified Butter
Clarified butter is made by gently melting butter to separate the milk solids and water from the pure butterfat. This process creates a stable cooking fat capable of withstanding higher heat while providing a rich, clean flavor profile.
Ingrédients
- 250 g unsalted butter
Préparation
- 1
Cut the butter into 1cm cubes, place them in a jug, and heat in the microwave in short increments until completely melted (approximately 1 to 1½ minutes). Alternatively, melt the butter in a saucepan and transfer it to a clear jug.
- 2
Allow the liquid to stand for several minutes to let the milk solids settle at the base, forming a distinct white layer beneath the golden butterfat. Use a spoon to carefully remove and discard any foam from the surface.
- 3
Pour the clear, golden butterfat into a clean container, ensuring the milky white solids remain at the bottom of the vessel.
- 4
Use the clarified butter immediately or store it for later; it will solidify upon cooling and can be re-melted as needed.
